Review of The Wrath: The Horror!
Having first heard that Apink singer Son Na-eun will be starring in The Wrath , a remake of the 1986 horror film of the same name, Next film thought that acting K-pop members will probably ruin the movie. But maybe not so.
After watching the trailer, it doesn't seem to be so scary. The most important is Son Na-Eun starring in The Wrath. She is one of the biggest incentives for young audiences, isn't it? But this may not be a true horror movie, it's more like a comedy.
Movie The Curath (The Wrath)
The Cursed Bride tells the mysterious story of the deaths in the residence of the Lee family, Joseon's premier wealthy mansion. The boys in the family died on the night of their wedding, causing a curse to haunt them.
Although the curse still exists, the last son of the Lee family is determined to get married and the results of the first night do not surprise people anymore. Poor poor Ok Boon of this scary wedding night became a widow in just one day.
The cause of the mysterious deaths continued to come but could not be explained, everyone felt that there was something mysterious going on in this famous mansion.
It is still a remake of the old classic movie, but it is filled with more modern horror details with some new characters and horror shoots that haunt the eyes and the mind. More reasonably, are these changes unknown to the original?
The scare phase is not enough
A horror movie that's not so scary; Must say this is a mess of fear, can also create unexpected factors, the phase scare sudden ( jump scare ) as usual. As a result, climax is funny, not fearful. There is a scene where the director seems to have taken it from "Silence of the Lambs."
The Cursed Bride was made so sketchy that it was neither attractive nor interesting. We may also find it quite similar to: In the silence of the sheep, a prospect of a psychopathic murderer wearing an infrared camera. But it's not even clear who will wear the camera here.
The biggest problem is that it feels very ... old. Looking at the original Wrath, this is a joke. The story is now outdated, going in a one-way direction and the effects are really not very good. However, at the time, these were striking effects that could appeal to an audience.
Thirty-two years have passed, perhaps we are no longer impressed by horror makeup, the nasty scare sudden ( jump scare ) cheap and too strange stories.
Decided to see
In general, "The Witch of Resentance" has most of the flaws of a poorly produced film compared to the standard of the original film. So it doesn't deserve the horror genre (we have to be honest with you). Although this was produced by the famous director Yoo Young-seon, it certainly did not satisfy, especially with the lackluster production quality, even though the actors worked hard to bring out the The best shot possible. For comparison, the Monster Trio is much more appreciated . So you can consider before watching.
